#TRAVELLINGISLAM
The Internet gives us unfiltered access to content about Islam with racist or extremist tendencies as well as a dramatically increasing amount of hate speech.
Processes of radicalisation can be a consequence, in which the interplay between Islamophobia and extremist ideologies plays a significant role.
To engage these problems and reach young people that don’t consume classical TV programming anymore, we created a web-series in co-operation with the YouTuber Hatice Schmidt, commissioned by the Federal Center for political education (BPB), accompanying her trip to several Islam experts. Visiting them in Malta, Frankfurt or Switzerland, she brings them the questions that move her:
What is the Sharia?
Am I considered an infidel if I don’t wear a headscarf?
Or: Where does the Koran come from?
